By taking GCOM 7720 you will learn to design and implement financial strategies to manage an online portfolio of stock and options worth $50m. You will create a robotrader that will hedge financial risks in real-time and compete in the McIntire Hedge Tournament. Through these activities you will experience the role of IT in finance and learn valuable hands-on skills: accessing financial databases using SQL, and creating complex financial apps using EXCEL and VBA.
