In GCom7770, you will design and implement risk-managing strategies for an online portfolio of stocks and options. You will
build a “robotrader” that monitors exposures and hedges in real time, then put your approach to the test in the McIntire Hedge Tournament.
Along the way, you will see how IT powers modern finance and develop practical, CV-ready skills: querying financial databases with SQL and building models and functions in Excel.
By the end of the course, you will be able to dissect and check the performance of a complex financial model - a valuable capability in accounting, assurance, and advisory roles.
The Hedge Tournament is the centerpiece of the course, and a memorable experience for all participants.
This course will expand and sharpen your skill set.
The schedule lists the work to do and contains links to the lecture slides, readings, and videos.
