In GCom 7720, you will learn to design and implement financial strategies to manage an online portfolio of stocks and options.
You will build a robotrader that hedges risk in real time, and use it to compete in the McIntire Hedge Tournament.
Along the way, you will see how IT enables modern finance and acquire hands-on skills: querying financial data using SQL, and developing sophisticated financial functions in Excel.
By the end of the course, you will be comfortable moving from strategy to implementation, a differentiator in today's competitive job markets.
The Hedge Tournament is the centerpiece of the course, and a memorable experience for all participants.
