Attendance

Late or missed a session? No worries. Here are the rules.

GCOM 7720  is held in-person, in RRH 410.  You are expected to attend every session. I take attendance every day with an attendance log.

Two freebies

I understand that health, job searches or important family events may require you to miss class. So, you will not be penalized for missing up to two class sessions during the semester. Use these freebies wisely!
After that, your participation grade for any absence will be zero, unless you email me some acceptable justification: a doctor note, for example.
In any case, you are always responsible for covering the materials, monitoring the website, and the Teams messages. Not paying attention is not an acceptable excuse.

Lateness

All projects are due at the beginning of class, unless explicitly indicated otherwise. Any homework submitted late will be subject to a 10% penalty for the first day and a 25% penalty thereafter. No homework will be accepted after two weeks.

Behavioral expectations

We follow the honor system. In addition, we are a professional school, which means that in class you are expected to behave like a professional. Be punctual. Engage in discussions and respect your classmates. Practice integrity and intellectual rigor. Noncompliance has participation implications.
